Welcome to BodyHelp..
I created this website to increase awareness on the challenges faced by young female patients of eating disorders, especially anorexia and bulimia, and to provide resources to help.
Eating disorders are widely covered in the context of being overweight/dieting, but I noticed very few resources exist that cover anorexia and bulimia, which are affecting an alarmingly high number of patients.
I have always had a deep interest in human mind and psychology. As I started seeing more and more coverage of anorexia and bulimia in the social media, I realized the alarming commonality of these disorders and their severe consequences. I learned through research that anorexia is one of the leading causes of death among teens, yet remains under-discussed. This realization motivated me to choose this topic and develop an online platform aimed at aiding those affected by eating disorders. I hope you find the information on this website helpful. Please do not forget to register to keep informed.

Hidden Battles: Grave Impact of Anorexia and Bulimia on Teenagers
Eating disorders are among the deadliest mental problems, second only to opioid overdose. Lives of thousands of teenagers are devastated each year by the dark cloud of anorexia and bulimia, the two most dangerous eating disorders.
Anorexia, driven by a fear of gaining weight and refusal to maintain a healthy body weight, starves the body of vital nutrients and leads to severe health complications like brittle bones, infertility, and heart problems. Bulimia, characterized by cycles of binge eating and purging (expelling food from the body by working out excessively or self induced vomiting), subjects young bodies to a rollercoaster of physical stress and internal damage, including severe dehydration, digestive issues, and electrolyte imbalances that can trigger heart failure. Both of these disorders deeply wound the mental health of teenagers, often originating from and contributing to debilitating issues of self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.
These disorders do more than disrupt the teenage years; they can derail entire lives, making early intervention and comprehensive support absolutely essential in the fight against these silent, yet deadly diseases. This website aims to provide resources to patients and their loved ones to battle anorexia and bulimia.
